What You'll Learn

The unit UETDRMP010 – Provide First Aid in an ESI Environment – equips individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver first aid in the unique and high-risk environments of the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI). This unit is essential for workers in roles such as electrical lineworkers, technicians, and field service staff, where quick and effective first aid response is critical to managing workplace injuries and emergencies.

Throughout the course, participants will learn how to assess emergency situations in an ESI setting, administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and provide essential first aid for common electrical-related injuries, such as burns, shocks, or falls. The training covers the specific hazards associated with working in high-voltage and low-voltage environments, ensuring that first aid is provided safely while minimising the risk to the rescuer. Participants will also gain knowledge on how to communicate with emergency services and ensure proper care until professional help arrives.

This unit is ideal for ESI workers, including electrical lineworkers, field operators, and maintenance personnel, who may be required to respond to injuries in an electricity supply environment.

Upon completing UETDRMP010 – Provide First Aid in an ESI Environment, participants will be able to confidently deliver first aid in high-risk ESI settings, ensuring a fast, effective, and safe response to emergencies. This training is crucial for promoting safety and saving lives in the electricity supply industry.
