CPR Training Course – HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Cardiac arrest is a life-threatening emergency. Quick action saves lives.

In this nationally accredited course, you will learn how to respond to a cardiac emergency with confidence. Following the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, this training equips you with essential CPR skills, including:

  • Recognising and assessing a cardiac arrest

  • Performing effective CPR on adults and infants

  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Managing airway complications such as vomiting or regurgitation

  • Working as part of a team to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions

  • Communicating clearly with emergency services

  • Reviewing incidents and addressing psychological impacts

Entry Requirements:

  • Physically capable of performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR

  • Comfortable with performing rescue breaths on manikins

  • Online access for pre-course study (if applicable)

Course Duration:

  • Online + Face to Face: Minimum 60 minutes (face-to-face component)

Assessments Include:

  • CPR on adult and infant manikins (with AED use)

  • Recovery position demonstration

  • Written theory (multiple choice)

Certification Validity:

  • Certificate is valid for 12 months
